Roscigno Vecchia is noted for its rain storms. This is why the Italian government moved everyone out of the Town in the 20th century. The rain storms caused mud slides and many houses collapsed. The Roscigno Vecchia Foundation along with the municipality of Roscigno and Pro Loco Roscigno are determined to save as many homes and buildings as possibe. The Town is now a museum dedicated to life in the late 19th and early 20th century. |

Roscigno Vecchia also known as "old Roscigno" is a small village in southern Italy. Abandoned in the early 20th century due to the danger of a landslide, the towns original buildings still stand today as a representation of 19th century Italian rural town development, society and architecture.
This website aims to encourage and promote tourism to Roscigno Vecchia and the surrounding areas, provide scholarships to the children of Roscigno and the surrounding district, assist in the preservation of the historic town, provide archival information ( location of family records in Italy and the USA) and reunite decedents of the town through communication, reunions and group trips to Italy. |

We have added a feature on our website that allows our visitor's to view the family trees of many of the ancestoral names of Roscigno Vecchia. Tom Resciniti Demont and Niki Amendola, our resident geneologists, have spent many hours developing these family trees. If you are a descendent of Roscigno, you're tree is probably on our site. if the tree is not there or if it is and it needs updating, notify Tom Demont at
